Why Spokane Drivers Are Switching to Ceramic Coating

Spokane's weather is hard on paint. UV from dry summers fades clear coat. Road salt in winter eats into unprotected surfaces. Tree sap, bird droppings, and dust from the valley roads all do damage that wax simply cannot stop. Once that clear coat is gone, you are looking at a repaint.

Ceramic coating bonds directly to your paint at a molecular level. It is not a wax that washes off after a few weeks. It is a durable, hydrophobic layer that causes water to bead off, makes dirt easier to remove, and holds a deep gloss that a car wash cannot replicate.

Buyers notice condition. A well-maintained exterior with protected paint commands a stronger resale price. Whether you are driving a daily commuter or a vehicle you have put real money into, ceramic coating is one of the highest-return things you can do for long-term value.

The Ceramic Coating Process

1

Free Quote and Vehicle Assessment

You request a quote and Paul reviews your vehicle type, current paint condition, and protection goals to recommend the right tier. No guesswork, no upselling you on something you do not need.

Under 60 seconds to request online
2

Wash and Decontamination

The vehicle gets a full wash to remove surface dirt, followed by an iron fallout treatment and clay bar process to strip bonded contamination from the paint. Coating over dirty paint is how you trap problems underneath. We do not cut corners here.

1 to 2 hours
3

Paint Correction (where included)

Swirl marks, light scratches, and water etching are machine polished out before any coating is applied. Ceramic locks in whatever is under it, so the surface has to be right first. Correction level depends on your chosen tier.

2 to 6 hours depending on severity
4

Surface Panel Wipe and Prep

Each panel is wiped down with a panel prep solution to remove any polish residue and oils. This step ensures the ceramic coating bonds cleanly to the clear coat with no barriers in between.

30 to 45 minutes
5

Ceramic Coating Application

The coating is applied panel by panel using professional applicators, then leveled with a microfiber cloth before it flashes. Each panel is inspected under lighting for uniform coverage. Higher tiers receive additional layers with cure time between each one.

2 to 5 hours depending on tier and vehicle size
6

Cure Time and Final Inspection

The vehicle sits in a controlled environment to allow the initial cure before any exposure to water or contamination. Paul does a full inspection under lighting to confirm coverage before handing the vehicle back. You also get a walkthrough of the do's and don'ts for the first week.

12 to 24 hours initial cure before getting wet

Ceramic Coating FAQ

Elite Pacific Detailing offers three tiers of ceramic coating protection at different price points, reflecting the number of layers, level of paint correction included, and surfaces covered. We do not display prices on the website because the right package depends on your vehicle's size and current paint condition. Request a free quote and Paul will give you a straight number based on what your specific vehicle actually needs.
That depends on the tier you choose and how the vehicle is maintained afterward. Entry-level packages deliver meaningful protection for one to two years. Higher tiers with multiple coating layers are designed to last considerably longer with proper maintenance washes. Skipping proper aftercare will shorten any coating's lifespan regardless of the product used.
Most ceramic coating appointments run between one full day and two days depending on the tier and the amount of paint correction required beforehand. The Essential Protection tier on a vehicle in good condition is faster. The Elite Armor package with full paint correction is a multi-step process that takes longer to do right. You will get a specific time estimate when you request your quote.
For the first seven days after application, the coating needs to stay dry and should not be driven through an automatic car wash or exposed to rain if possible. After that initial cure period, regular hand washes or touchless washes are recommended. Avoid automatic brush washes as they can cause swirl marks over time. Paul provides an aftercare guide with every appointment.
Warranty coverage varies by tier and product used. When you request a quote, Paul will walk you through the specific terms that apply to your chosen package. Any warranty is contingent on following the recommended maintenance schedule, which is standard practice across the industry.
Wax and sealant sit on top of the paint and break down within weeks to a few months. They offer minimal protection against UV, chemicals, or abrasion. Ceramic coating chemically bonds to the clear coat, creating a hard, semi-permanent layer that does not wash off. The hydrophobic effect is also significantly stronger, meaning water and dirt release from the surface far more easily between washes.
Daily drivers take the most punishment from UV exposure, road salt, bird droppings, and regular washing. Those are exactly the conditions ceramic coating is built for. The protection it provides on a vehicle driven year-round in the Inland Northwest will do far more work than on a weekend-only car kept in a garage. If you plan to keep the vehicle for several more years or care about its resale condition, it is worth serious consideration.
