What's Included

The Process

1

Inspect the Lenses

Paul checks both headlights up close to gauge how deep the oxidation goes. This tells us exactly what grit and how many sanding stages your lenses need.

2

Clean and Prep

The lens surface and surrounding area are cleaned and taped off. This protects your paint and ensures nothing interferes with the restoration process.

3

Wet Sand the Oxidation Away

Starting with a coarser grit and working down to a finer grit, we wet sand through the damaged outer layer of the lens. This is where the real work happens.

4

Compound and Polish

A machine compound removes the sanding marks and restores clarity. We follow up with a fine polish to get the lens looking as close to factory-clear as possible.

5

Apply UV Protection

A UV sealant or protective coating goes on last. Without this step, lenses re-oxidize fast. This coating buys you significantly more time before the haze comes back.

6

Final Check

We inspect both lenses in direct light and compare them to where they started. You can see the difference before we pack up and leave.

Is This Right For You?

This service is a good fit for trucks, SUVs, and sedans with noticeably yellowed, hazy, or cloudy headlights that are reducing your nighttime visibility or dragging down the look of an otherwise clean vehicle. If your headlights look foggy in photos or have failed a state inspection, this is the fix before you spend money on new assemblies.

Common Questions About Headlight Restoration

Most headlight restorations take between 45 minutes and 90 minutes depending on how severe the oxidation is. Heavily yellowed lenses with deep UV damage take longer because we need more sanding stages to get through the damaged layer.
With a proper UV sealant applied at the end, most customers see clear lenses for one to two years before any haze starts to return. Spokane summers are tough on plastic lenses, so parking in a garage or shaded area when possible will help the results last longer.
For most trucks and SUVs in the Spokane area, replacement assemblies run anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars per side. If the lens itself is the problem and the housing is otherwise intact, restoration gives you most of the same result for a fraction of the cost.
Elite Pacific Detailing comes to you. We show up at your home or wherever your vehicle is parked in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake, Post Falls, and the surrounding area. All you need is access to the vehicle.
Restoration works on oxidation and hazing, but it cannot repair physical cracks or chips in the lens. If your lens has structural damage, we will let you know upfront so you are not paying for a result we cannot deliver.
